Horse pill

The Augmentin pills I'm on are GI-normous. If I had a fill anytime recently, I would have had to cut them in half to get them down. These are the COMMON side effects of Augmentin: diarrhea; nausea; vomiting
.
Those are the common ones! Yikes. The severe side effects are: Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); bloody stools; confusion; dark urine; fever, chills, or persistent sore throat; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; seizures; severe diarrhea; stomach pain or cramps; unusual bruising or bleeding; vaginal discharge or irritation; yellowing of the skin or eyes.
.
In the past few days, I've spoken with so many people who said they had to go off Augmentin because it was making them sicker than their original illness. I've gone off it every other time I've been on it too, for the same reason. I know I need something strong right now, so I'm hanging in there. I just seem to be sick to my stomach in the first few hours of the day. After that, my stomach is annoyed, but I don't have any other symptoms. I know that all the carbs I'm consuming before taking the pill is saving me, but I'm really bored with my bland diet right now.
.
It's a small price to pay to get over a bad illness in a short amount of time, though. If getting to the MD right away, and doing all the right things really shortens my recovery time from weeks to less than one week, I'll be sold. :)

I never got sick from taking Augmentin, I only got the one big side effect that shall remain nameless...

But that is so awful that you're getting so sick from it

:(

Feel better

Take heart - Benny has been on Augmentin at least twice. It seems to work. He's had a touch of stomach upset, but no more.

However, he wasn't prescribed horse pills; he gets to take with a dropper in bubblegum flavor!

I want a bubblegum flavored dropper - no fair! :)

I wonder if Benny has the milk allergy I've decided I have. ;-)
